The basics

What is Kinvera?

Kinvera is a collaborative family health platform built by a nurse. You, and any family members you invite, map your family's health history in one place, and Kinvera turns it into a personalized prevention plan that shows you which screenings matter for you and when to get them. The idea is simple. The conditions that run in your family are some of the best clues you have about your own health, and most people never get a clear way to act on them.

Who is Kinvera for?

Adults who want to get ahead of the conditions that run in their family, and who would rather catch something early than wait for symptoms. It is especially for the family historians, the people who naturally become the keepers of their family's story and want to collect and share it with the people they love, so that everyone can act on their health. You must be at least 18 to create an account. You do not need to be sick, and you do not need to already know your full family history to start.

Is this a DNA or genetic test?

No. Kinvera does not analyze your genes and is not a genetic test. It uses your family health history, the same information a good clinician asks about at a first visit, to flag the screenings that matter most for you. Family history is one of the strongest predictors of risk for many conditions, and you do not need a genetic test to put it to work.

Do I need a blood test or a lab visit?

No. There is nothing to draw, mail in, or swab. Kinvera works from the health history you and your family already carry in your heads and your memories. No needles, no lab fees, no appointment.

Where is Kinvera available?

You can start today in any web browser at kinvera-v3.vercel.app/signup, and you can learn more at www.kinverahealth.com. Native apps for the Apple App Store and Google Play are coming soon.

How it works

How does Kinvera actually work?

Three steps. First, you build your family health map by adding relatives and the conditions they have had, along with the ages those conditions started. Second, Kinvera turns that map into a personalized prevention dashboard that shows the screenings you are due or overdue for. Third, you follow through, with reminders that keep the screenings that matter from slipping off your list.

You can also invite family members to own their own accounts and collaborate with you on shared relatives, including those who have passed away or cannot take part themselves. When more than one person is contributing what they know, the map fills in faster and the value grows exponentially for everyone on it.

Where do the screening recommendations come from?

From established U.S. preventive care guidelines, adjusted for what your family history shows. A relative's diagnosis can change when you begin a particular screening, and Kinvera accounts for that. You can review the full evidence base on our Clinical Sources page.

Do my family members have to use the app?

No. You can record a relative's history yourself, and they never need to download anything or create an account. If a family member does want to join and contribute their own information to a shared workspace, they can, but it is never required.

What if my family does not talk about health?

Most families do not, and Kinvera is built for exactly that. You do not need a sit-down conversation or a complete family tree. You fill in what you know, quietly and over time, and even partial history is useful. The product is designed to work from fragments, not from a perfect record.

Can I organize history by side of the family?

Yes. You keep separate workspaces for your maternal side, your paternal side, or any grouping that fits your family, while everything still feeds one prevention dashboard for you.

What is the Physician Export?

It is a clean, structured summary you can bring to a doctor's appointment. It pulls together your own health information in your words, including allergies, medications, and past medical and surgical history, along with your demographics, your family health history, and, on the premium tier, the dates of your screenings. Instead of trying to remember everything in the room, you walk in with it organized, which makes the visit more useful for both of you.

Family & minors

Can I add my children or younger relatives?

Yes. As the adult account holder, you can record health information about minor relatives, because childhood and early-onset conditions are a real part of family history. Minors do not create their own accounts or use Kinvera themselves. By adding a minor relative's information, you confirm you have an appropriate basis to do so, for example as the child's parent or guardian.

Who can see my family map?

Only you, and any family members you explicitly invite to a shared workspace, will be able to see your family map. Relatives invited to your paternal family do not have access to view your maternal family, and vice versa.

Someone in my family wants their information removed. How?

A relative, or a parent or guardian acting for a minor, can ask us to remove their information at any time by emailing hello@kinverahealth.com. We will work with the account holder to remove or de-identify it.

Pricing & plans

Is Kinvera HSA or FSA eligible?

Kinvera is designed to be HSA and FSA eligible. You can find the current details on our homepage. As with any HSA or FSA question, your plan has the final say, so check with your plan administrator.

How much does Kinvera cost?

There are three plans:

  • Foundation is free forever. It includes the shared family health map, unlimited family members, and a physician-ready family history summary.
  • Individual is $9.99 a month, or $79.99 a year ($39.89 less). It adds your personalized prevention dashboard, screening timelines, and reminders.
  • Family is $19.99 a month, or $149.99 a year ($89.89 less). It covers you plus up to five family members with full access.
Is the family health map really free?

Yes, permanently. The shared family health map and unlimited family members are free for everyone, not as a trial or a limited offer. The paid plans add the personalized prevention dashboard and the tools that help you follow through on screenings.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel whenever you like. If you cancel a paid plan, you keep access to paid features through the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and then your account returns to the free Foundation plan.

Do you offer refunds?

We do not refund partial billing periods, but if something went wrong, email us at hello@kinverahealth.com and we will look at it case by case. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refund requests are handled by the applicable store.

Your data & privacy

Do you sell my health data?

We do not sell your personal identifiable health data. Aggregated, de-identified data that cannot be traced back to you may be shared with research and industry partners. The full picture is in our Privacy Policy.

Do you show me ads?

No. Kinvera does not show in-app advertising, and we do not let advertisers target you using your health information.

How do you protect my information?

We keep your name and email separated from your health data inside our systems, encrypt data in transit and at rest, and limit who can access it. Kinvera is not a HIPAA-covered entity, since it is not a doctor's office or insurer, but our practices are designed to align with the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule and applicable state health privacy laws. The details are in our Privacy Policy and on our Data governance page.

Why do you ask for my insurance carrier?

Two reasons, and we are upfront about both. It helps point you toward the preventive screenings your plan is likely to cover, and in aggregate, de-identified form it helps show insurers that their members complete screenings. We only ask for the carrier name. We never ask for your member ID, group number, or anything off your insurance card.

Can I delete my data?

Yes, at any time, from your account settings or by emailing hello@kinverahealth.com. Your family map belongs to you, and you can export it or delete it whenever you want.

Medical & clinical

Does Kinvera give medical advice?

No. Kinvera is an informational and organizational tool, not a medical provider, and it does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional care. Its screening recommendations are there to help you have a better conversation with a qualified provider, who should always be the one making decisions about your health. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Does Kinvera replace my doctor?

No. It makes you a more prepared patient. You walk into appointments knowing your family history is organized and knowing which screenings you are due for, so the time with your doctor goes further.

Who built Kinvera?

Kinvera was built by Adriana Puram, MBA, BSN, RN, CCRN, a registered nurse with nearly a decade of bedside experience in intensive care, the emergency room, and the operating room. She built it after seeing, again and again, how often serious conditions were caught late when a family history had been hinting at them all along. You can read more on our Our Story page.
